Skin Biopsy or Removal
The removal of problematic moles, freckles or skin tags can easily be done in our consulting rooms. Most skin lesions are benign, but because melanoma is such a serious disease we will always send surgical specimens to a laboratory for histologic evaluation to confirm it was not a skin cancer.
If you are that scared of a biopsy in the rooms or if multiple biopsies are required we will assist you to make a plan for performing biopsies under sedation or even with general anesthesia in theatre.
We charge all biopsy costs to your medical aid. If you do not have a medical aid or prefer to pay the private fee we charge
R 2500.00 for the first biopsy and R 800.00 for each additional lesion.
